Frequently
Asked Questions
What is a Physical Therapist? - Physical therapists
are state licensed professionals with extensive education
in anatomy, neurology, physiology, and biomechanics. Training
ranges from Bachelor of Science Degree to a Doctor of
Physical Therapy (DPT). All schools of physical therapy
are currently training physical therapists at the master
degree or doctoral level. All of our physical therapists
specialize in treatment of muscular, skeletal injuries
and problems that can cause pain, limited movement and
decreased strength. We also have therapists that have
completed specialized training and certification in treatment
of dizziness, vertigo and balance problems.
How can a Physical Therapist help me? - Our therapists
begin by discussing the problems that you are experiencing.
Determining how the injury or symptoms started, when and
how they occur and how they limit your activity allows
the therapist to begin identifying the cause of your problem.
Therapists look at the amount and ease of movement, posture,
strength, sensation and balance and perform special tests
to diagnose the type of injury or cause of pain. A treatment
plan is developed to address problems that keep your joints,
muscles, nerves and balance systems from working properly.
They may also recommend treatments that work directly
on the cause of your pain.
How do I get started? - It's pretty simple. Just
call our office or contact
us via our website. You can set up an appointment
to get started. If you want to discuss your problem with
a therapist but would like more information before beginning
treatment, consider using our FREE consultation program.
We will spend 10-15 minutes assessing your problem to
determine what type of treatment is needed. Some patients
are referred us by their physician, podiatrist, dentist,
chiropractor or nurse, but we have many patients that
are simply referred by family and friends.
What types of problems do you treat?- Excel

disorders. Our therapists treat a variety of other muscular,
